vSphere Mobile Watchlist enables secure vSphere infrastructure monitoring and remediation directly from your smartphone. With Watchlist, VMware administrators will be able to log in to a vCenter Server or ESXi host directly and choose virtual machines and hosts from inventory to create targeted views of objects and their properties. Remediate directly from the device with power and management operations, VM console interaction, and delegation of tasks to onsite colleagues with linked relevant Knowledge Base (KB) articles.

vSphere Mobile Watchlist brings the following key capabilities to vSphere administrators on the go:

EASILY CREATE WATCHLISTS: Search for and select a subset of VMs and hosts from your VMware vCenter Server and/or ESXi inventory to monitor in one or multiple watchlists.

VMs and HOSTS AT A GLANCE: Review the status of selected Watchlist VMs and hosts from your device including state, configuration details, resource usage, performance charts, health alerts, tasks and events, interact with the VM console and browse related objects.

DISCOVER: Alerts are linked to pertinent diagnostic information from the VMware Knowledge Base, as well as articles from the Web.

REMEDIATE REMOTELY: Remediate problems directly from the device using simple CPU/Memory configuration and snapshot management or by powering on/off, resuming/suspending, connecting/disconnecting, or restarting VMs and/or hosts — or for situations where on-site remediation is required, share alert(s) along with recommended solutions in an email to team members back at the datacenter.
vSphere Mobile Watchlist is compatible with iOS 7 & iOS 8.

NOTE: A VMware vSphere installation (5.0 and above) is required to use VMware vSphere Mobile Watchlist. Access to vSphere infrastructure may require a secure access method such as VPN on a mobile device. Contact your IT department for further assistance.

Pros and cons of VMware vSphere Mobile Watchlist app for iPhone and iPad

VMware vSphere Mobile Watchlist app good for

Current version is not optimized for slow connections(1mbit/s). Pls fix.
Actually its very useful app. And many features. I like it very much. But the problem is when I try to open Console, app always get crash. Please fix this in next update then FIVE Stars. Thanks.

Some bad moments

Seems like its a half done port. Screen size isnt formatted for larger iPhone 6.
I would suggest to test this app before releasing. Text is unreadable in Details section. Task and event lists for a VM doesnt load at all. These arent minor issues that could be overlooked...
Various ui problems in iPhone 6+ need ui restyle, some labels not correctly shown and make reading difficult, sometimes the app crash on iOS 9.3
Server status/specs is overwritten by other text. Please fix.
Is it possible to automatically start a VPN connection when launching the app?
Easy to use. Simple to setup and monitor collections of virtual machines, see alerts and do basic operations like power on and shutdown.
